And I’m not quoting Triple H here (if you know anything about Wrestling and WWE you’ll get the reference) … so no pun intended this time for obvious reasons. I really like The Stylist (I didn’t see the short but the director’s feature debut) … so I think I might have had some high expectations for this one. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. Now the basic idea sounds more than nice. But I think the script could use a little more work. And checking imdb and I don’t want to imply anything: this script was not written by the director, but by someone else… maybe it would be better if she worked on it a bit.

And then there’s the problem of the actors not being able to save it from themselves (again, no pun intended). The core idea is strong enough to hold the thing together… and one could argue that the ending can be… but I won’t… talk (yes, more puns). Never mind the annoying nature and the script that makes the characters look like goldfish (like when they forget their previous emotion and either repeat it or do a very weird 180) .. and not in a good way. After all, the quality is there, you just have to accept the things that most will… see as flaws.

We know the director can do something meaningful and exciting…so I’m here for her next film. And I’ll try to check out some of her short films as they seem to be good too (also mostly written by her) ….
